Bio
DeepC is an Melodic eclectic musician.
Sings, plays guitar and percussion- Djembe.
He considers himself Innovative, unique, interesting, passionate and open-minded to all styles of music.
Born and raised in India he moved to Boston 12 years ago. Initially he started as a Congo player in 6th grade, graduated to drums/Lead vocals in high school and first year of College bands. The big move came when he fronted a cover Band called "The Unknowns” in Bangalore, India. The Band played around the country to large audiences (30,000 being the largest). After the big move across the continent he realized he had to get a real paying job in America. Life ever since has been a creative journey with first fronting a Progressive Goth Band -"Sift" (1995-1998) that played several venues - ( Mama Kin, The Rat, Middle East, T.T'S, CBGB, NYC to name a few. In 1999 DeepC parted ways to pursue a solo career learning to play Acoustic Guitar and Djembe. In the last 6 years DeepC had the honor to have a lot of amazing musicians play on his 2 Solo Albums. The arrival of new members Bill Johnston on Lead Guitar and Nazo Tejrian on Bass from Syria in 2005 has added new direction delving more into the Reggae Jazz Rock feel.
Currently prefers only to record and can play only a few selective live shows.

Rarely have I taken more pleasure in finding myself unable to pigeonhole a CD.
Too smooth to be called rock, too” alternative" to be easy listening ,and incorporating enough fusion elements to make one suspect there might be some Berklee education at work. Try imagine Peter Murphy if he wasn’t so damn gloomy (yes, Deep's voice is that good). There is an air of maturity and refinement in the songwriting here that is lacking in the majority of the music I generally choose to listen to. Deep C (that's the guy's name) has assembled a batch of musicians to help him realize his vision, and the stunning lead work of three different guitarists helps this one stand up to, and even welcome repeat listens. The lyrics are personal but stop short of the point of embarrassment, and they are sung with sincerity that would shame most "singer/songwriters". I could have lived without so much of the "nonverbal"vocals- you know, the whoa-oooh's and the do-doo's and what- have you.
But I'll say one thing if I could spend one hour in the kind of headspace that must be required to produce music of such beauty, I would glow in the fucking dark.

The record is mellow and ultimately a good disc to listen to when....relaxing
The musicianship is superb...
